P’que public education advances

Parañaque’s public school system is getting records high with tremendous support from the City Government of Parañaque under the administration of Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr.

Past administrations did not prioritize education. As a result, the public school system suffered classroom shortage and student overpopulation problems. Also, many barangays in the city did not have their own public schools such that many students had to enroll in neighboring Cities of Pasay and Taguig.

Today, the Department of Education-Division of Parañaque City Schools is getting not only traditional direct assistance, reading program, training and development, technological, learning, health and nutrition support but also infrastructure development assistance from the current city administration.

To date, the City Government of Parañaque has built seven modern school buildings, among them the Sun Valley Elementary School, Sun Valley High School, R. Gatchalian Elem. School, Moonwalk High School, Parañaque Science High School, Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Parañaque Branch and P’que National High School-Sto. Niño Annex.

Five more public school buildings are being erected. They are for the San Martin de Porres Elem. School, UPS5-San Isidro Elem. School, UPS4-Marcelo Green Elem. School, Arcadio Santos National High School-Don Bosco Campus and Sto. Niño Elem. School Extension.

“Following our focus on education as a priority agenda, our public education system has improved tremendously. We have solved the classroom shortage and student overpopulation problems of old. Today, our children need not go to schools in neighboring cities anymore as we have built many public schools of our own. We dedicate these gains and successes in our public education system to our citizens who we have sworn to serve.”, Mayor Jun Bernabe said.
